Lake Cowal Easter Convergence
Come and camp out at Lake Cowal this Easter weekend for music, action and learning, bring water, food, camping gear and some friends.
Every year since 2001 people have gathered at Lake Cowal in opposition to the Barrick owned Lake Cowal gold mine. Lake Cowal is in the heart of NSW and is known as the heartland of the Wiradjuri Nation. Lake Cowal is an ephemeral lake and significant wetland. The mine is due to close in 2013 but Barrick have applied for an expansion of the open cut, cyanide leach gold mine
Barrick are the largest gold mining company in the world and have many controversial mines. Come and join us this Easter at Lake Cowal to stand in solidarity with the Mooka Kalara united families and people world wide affected by Barricks gold mines. To find out more see www.savelakecowal.com
